reachAbility - Who We Are
reachAbility is a non-profit, charitable organization that was established in March 2000 by a group of volunteers in Halifax. We are committed to increasing awareness within all of our communities, of persons living with disabilities and their roles within, through education and information. By doing this, we are enhancing the quality of life of the entire population, within our schools, workplaces, and social networks, as we fully integrate all members of our communities regardless of their abilities. We strive to improve access to justice, equality, and human rights for people living with disabilities and for those within their support systems.
reachAbility continually listens to the needs of persons living with disabilities and creates innovative and effective programming in direct response to those needs. By building lasting relationships with all sectors of the community, we continue in our capacity to offer education and employment programs, legal research, projects and services, community partnerships, and volunteer opportunities.
